Why has there been such success with the Nintendo Wii?

There are several reasons. The one that really stands out is its price. With a retail cost of about $250, the Nintendo Wii is a lot less expensive than the competition. In comparison, the core system of the Xbox costs $299 and the basic system of the Playstation 3 has a retail price of $599. It's practically impossible for Sony and Microsoft to lower their price to that level.

Another factor with Nintendo Wii's succes is how easy the system is to play. The Wii is designed with innovative games to attract people who would normally not be interested in playing regular console games. They achieved this with a new type of control.

The main reason this console is so successful is because of this new control. It has closed the breach between hard-core gamers and non-gamers. With this Wii control, anyone can play.

Nintendo has proven that the gaming market isn't about having the most recent technology in graphics. Consumers want entertainment at an affordable price and that's exactly what the Nintendo Wii gives them. A lot of fun for less money.
